Hello! I appreciate you for coming to my little imaginal corner and giving my passion project some of your energy. My name is Jack Young and I’m a 24 year old guy from the United States. I’m currently traveling/volunteering my way through Japan after having worked as an English teacher in Hokkaido. Since graduating from Temple University in May 2022, I’ve had an insatiable desire to explore the world and live a life of adventure rich in archetypal vibrancy. I’m inspired by various fantasy realms and stories, and imagination in general. I’ve come to view imagination as some spiritual dimension that is distinct from our commonplace reality, and that an act of creation is a portal connecting those two worlds. Through traveling the world, I aim to strengthen my personal connection to that other world: I yearn to live a life worthy of the greatest stories that inspire people from all walks of life, and to maybe create the fertile soil within my own soul for a story to bloom.
I explore the world as a means to mirror the inner journey I take in life through my own psyche. What it is I’m searching for, I can’t exactly put into words. I’m traveling to experience wonder and to constantly reignite my curiosity in life, but I also envision myself as collecting countless different types of seeds and saplings for my soul’s garden. I want to explore the cultural traditions and spiritual heritage of different places on Earth, and to maybe take what resonates with me and synthesize it into some educational paradigm. My purpose in life lies in education and helping kids/young people learn to be more holistically human, and through traveling I am personally experimenting modalities and lifestyles that bring that about for myself.
I’d love for this blog to be some sort of wild and whimsical community, where anybody who feels called can reach out to me or talk to other people who have similar inner yearnings.
